Fart Sounds — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 October 2026
This policy covers Fart Sounds (the “app”), published by HUGO FM GAMES, a trading name of HUGO.FM Games Limited (company no. 14615936) (hugo.fm), and its server at fart.shoutoutgames.com. The app works inside AI assistants such as ChatGPT (by OpenAI) and Claude (by Anthropic).
What we collect
The app has no accounts and does not ask for your name, email, location, contacts or payment details. When you ask for a sound, the AI assistant you use sends our server the details of that request, such as the sound or song you asked for, your language, your timezone and, if you ask for a “name fart”, the first name you typed. Our server does not receive your full conversation, only these requests.
What we store and for how long
To keep the player in sync, the server stores an anonymous player session: a session reference, the last command, your language and your timezone. The session can include the first name you typed for a name fart. Sessions, including any first name, are deleted automatically 24 hours after they were last used.
Our app logs record each request’s status and duration for reliability. They do not record what you asked for. Like any web server, our server also keeps standard access logs (including IP address, time, the address requested and client details) for security. Access logs are rotated daily and kept for about 14 days.
How each assistant connects
- ChatGPT. ChatGPT sends anonymous conversation and user identifiers with each request. The session reference is derived from ChatGPT’s anonymous user and conversation identifiers with a keyed one-way hash, so one conversation keeps one player. We do not store the identifiers themselves. ChatGPT may also send a general location hint, and the server reads only the timezone from it. Your conversation with ChatGPT is handled by OpenAI under its own privacy policy.
- Claude. Claude sends no conversation identifier, so each request from Claude gets a new random anonymous session. Your conversation with Claude is handled by Anthropic under its own privacy policy.
- Other assistants and MCP clients. Assistants that send no conversation identifier, such as Claude, get a new random anonymous session for each request. The assistant’s provider handles your conversation under its own privacy policy.
- REST API. Apps and assistants that use our REST API (fart.shoutoutgames.com/v1) send only the details of each request. The API stores nothing: it keeps no session, and a first name sent for a name fart is used for that response only.
How we use it
- To play the sound, song or video you asked for.
- To keep the player in sync, for example for stop, replay and countdowns.
- To keep the service secure and reliable, for example to limit abuse and fix errors.
What we do not do
The app never accesses your microphone or camera, does not track you across sites, does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and does not sell or share your information, apart from the service providers below that help run it. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling or training AI models. Fart ratings and fart weather are jokes, not measurements.
Service providers and media
Sounds, songs and videos are streamed from our media host (assets.mrfarts.tv), which receives standard request information needed to deliver the files. When the player streams a file, your device connects to the media host directly.
- Cloudflare provides our network and content delivery. It carries traffic to fart.shoutoutgames.com and delivers the media from assets.mrfarts.tv.
- DigitalOcean hosts our server, where player sessions and logs are stored.
Your choices
- You do not need an account. You can skip name farts if you prefer not to share a first name.
- Sessions expire on their own 24 hours after last use.
- You can disconnect the app in your assistant’s settings at any time.
- To ask a question or request deletion, use the contact link below. Sessions are anonymous and are deleted automatically after 24 hours.
Children
The app is comedy entertainment and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above.
